October 22nd, 2007 - Observation day at Evie's dance class

Here are some videos from observation day at Evie's dance class. They do tumbling during the ballet portion of the class as well.

Friday, October 19th, 2007 - Sloan cheers at the football game!

This evening Sloan was also able to cheer at the football game.

Here she is cheering o the track during the 2nd quarter. She has the white bow in her hair & is in the front row in the middle.

More time on the track during the 2nd Quarter. The K5 group cheered during the 1st Quarter, 1st grade during 2nd Quarter, 2nd grade during 3rd Quarter & 3rd grade during 4th Quarter. In 4th grade there is an actual squad, so they don't do Little Pats anymore.

At half time the entire group got to cheer on the field. Sloan is in the 2nd row a little to the left in this pic.

Here's Sloan with Katherine after the half time show. Katherine has 2 little brothers; Ford & Sam. Katherine's mom, Tricia, went to my rival high school, Stratford, back in Houston, TX. We met here through mutual friends (obviously at the small private school where our kids attend), and Tricia is also a member of the Junior League. Small world.

Friday, October 19th, 2007 - Sloan cheers at the pep rally!

The kids & I went to our first Pep Rally at MRA! Sloan decided to participate in the Little Pats Cheer program again this year & believe it or not - she actually cheereed. The activity kept everyone's attention. It was kinda fun! Here's the video - she's got a red shirt on, khaki shorts & a navy bow with white polka dots.

October 7th, 2007 - Sloan lost her 4th tooth!

Sloan has now lost 4 teeth. She didn't lose any for so long & now they all seem to be coming out at one time!

Where have I been?

I know... I have not been blogging. As you can see I have updated almost 2 months of activity over the past couple of days. We have been very busy. With School, Swim Team, TaeKwon Do, Ballet, Tumble Cheer, Junior League and still trying to have some sort of family life some things have slipped some. Hopefully, this will get everyone caught up some...

As of this week Will has 16 teeth, so he's right on track with our other kids. He weighs 24lbs and is 31 inches tall. He's not gained any weight since he was 9 months old, but has obviously gotten taller. At this point we've just been told to keep encouraging him to eat & to have him on vitamins. He doesn't speak much at all, which has been very unusual for us - the girls were barking orders at us by this time. To his credit, Will is barking orders, they just happen to not be in a language that we can understand. He does understand everything & follows orders quite well (another unusual habit for one of our children) so no worries about his slow speech. He got his 1st pair of shoes this past weekend too, he walks everywhere now & would rather not have mommy or daddy help him at all.

Evie is between 40 & 45lbs and is 42.5 inches tall. She's loving going to school, her ballet classes, swimming and tumble cheer. She still obviously loves all things PINK, she loves barbie & princesses. She's been a little disappointed because she's now having to get into the habit of NOT getting to wear clothes or shoes with her favorite characters on them. However, as she progresses at MRA the dress code becomes much more strict.

Sloan is also between 40 & 45lbs and she is 43 inches tall. So yes, the girls are pretty much the same size, even though they are almost 2 years apart in age. I buy them both size 6 clothes (Sloan's are slims though), and both size 11 shoes. Wish I could say they wore the same clothes... They don't like the same colors even a little bit. Sloan's favorite color is GREEN she'll be very quick to tell anyone. She's lost 3 teeth so far. She has one tooth that's so loose she can turn it completely sideways, it's even started to gray a little. Pretty soon she will have to let Nate take it out, but she's so afraid - we can hope it just falls out... Sloan is still taking TaeKwon Do, she's also swimming with the Swim Team, and school for her now goes the full day. She really wants to take Gymnastics and join a soccer team in the spring - I am not sure where I will find the time for all of this... Sloan still talks about all of her friends in Texas & misses them SO much!

I truly don't have any current pics of me or Nate, and I have no plans on sharing my weight with the world...

Nate has recently taken on the advertising duties for both the radio stations in this group. He's going through a big shuffle at his office with his additional position, new employees and even a physical move as his office will be moving, staying in the same building, just to a new area. Even his AE's will be moving offices, all of this change is taking a bit of time though. He's still had to keep up with all the concerts and remotes, he can't really take a break from his regular duties to manage these changes so it's all taking a while, but it's very good all the same. It's been so hot this summer that he's not gotten any work done on his jeep project, but as it cools off he's got big plans. He's also got a design for a fireplace screen for our house as Will is SO mobile now. He was recently working on cleaning up our backyard and managed to end up needing 10 stitches in his arm. We had a make-shift covered area left over from the previous owner collapse over the summer and since it's starting to cool off we didn't want the kids getting into the tin roof & rusty nails that were left laying around. Looks like Nate should have watched out for this as well...

I have been very busy as well. My Junior League placement started in June so I can't blame that for my lack of presence on our blog. My Member-At-Large duties have picked up here recently as we prepare to approve next year's projects, and our General Meetings have begun again this fall. We are also getting geared up for Mistletoe Market Place which will begin November 7th. I have also started a job as a Swim Coach for the Makos, one of the local US Swim Teams. All of that along with being the chauffeur & homemaker for the Peacock Flock keeps me VERY busy.

I hope this gets everyone up-to-speed. We miss all of you that we don't get to see any more and think about you often. We hope all of you are having a great & safe Fall!

Friday, October 5th, 2007 - MRA Elementary Grandparent's Day

Madison Ridgeland Academy (where the girls go to school) has it's own Grandparent's Day(s) - they celebrate for many of the grade levels. Today MRA celebrated Grandparent's Day with the Elementary school.

This first picture is like a game of Where's Waldo? Can you spot Sloan?
She's got a light orange shirt with camo pants & is sitting in the middle...

Every Monday morning the kids start their week with Chapel. This was a short rendition of Chapel demonstrated for us. They were dancing & singing songs like "My Father's House", "I Love You Lord" & other great praise songs. What a joy that my kids are getting to go to a school like this one!

Patriotism is also encouraged at MRA. This morning each of the branches of service were recognized.

A Color Guard also came in for the presentation of the Flag, and the kids sang "God Bless America" and said the Pledge of Allegiance.

Here is Mrs. Smith's class getting ready for their book presentation.

Sloan in position getting ready to tell us all about her book.

Sloan read a book called Fluffy and Baron and gave all the class, parents and grandparents a description of the book.

Cam & Jacqueline in line next to Sloan.

Here's Daden showing me her book & prop.

After we went to lunch. Will had his first sprite.

It was worth it just to see his face!

He's gotten to be such a big boy!

After he got used to the bubbles he really seemed to like it.

September 22nd, 2007

This is the first time I have had a child fall asleep in the highchair!

Our kids are pretty cute - if I do say so myself!

Just about each day we are out on the boat Will takes a nap. We lay him down under the canopy & he just naps there while the rest of us play.

Sloan laying in the sun.

Those freckles make her even cuter!

Evie is putting her toes in the water.

So cute!

September 14th, 2007

You know daddy got the camera ready fast when Evie got herself into this predicament.

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Just in case you haven't tried it - if you click on the picture it will enlarge to show more detail. Here are Scott & Nick wearing our kids' new floaties...

Aren't you guys glad I keep my camera handy? You 2 are so cute!

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

It's been a little choppy at "The Rez" lately we were blessed with some smooth water early in the day though. After the chop rolled in we decided to let the kids try something new. They rode seated on Scott's surfboard and hung onto the rope.

Here's Evie riding the surfboard.

She LOVED it!

And Sloan had a great time too!

We went very slowly and kept the rope very short. It's still a great thing for the kids to get to hang onto the rope for themselves. They both had fun & it was pretty funny to watch. You can imagine how hard it was for them to get on the surfboard once they had fallen off - very entertaining.

And in other news...

Will is officially a walker. We didn't get a great video of it, but he's walking independently for real now.

September 2nd & 3rd, 2007 - The rest of Labor Day Weekend

Scott contributed one of his chairs to the fire. His kids wanted to keep pieces of the chair to remember it by.

Scott has taken to entertaining all of us on the boat with his moves on the wakeboard or wakeskate. It's really something you have to see to appreciate - so funny!

Saturday, September 1st, 2007 - Labor Day Weekend

We had a nice long Labor Day Weekend. We were (obviously) at the lake...

This is Scott's son Nate on the Wakeboard. He's so big to do this!

Nate hanging out on the front of the boat with one of his birthday presents. A remote controlled shark - it was pretty cool really.

Scott & Nick are holding Jourdan up in the air on the wakeskate.

And Evie!

And Nate!

Scott & David managed to get Nick up in the air.

What's she gonna do???

A BACKFLIP!!!

Sloan jumps high!

Evie jumps in a funny position...

This is "Hang on - it's gonna get better!"

We're not done yet...

CHICKEN FIGHT!!!

Isn't this just too cute!!! Scott & Allie - awww!

Silly girls!

Will loves being on the jet ski. Not that he's riden one yet - he just sits there & pretends.
