Hello everyone! It seems to have become a habit for me to not get Christmas cards out! This year my WONDERFUL friend Amy came to take some pictures of the family for us so I thought I would take this opportunity to share some pictures with you all & give you a short version of our year.
This year Nate & I celebrated our 10th anniversary with a trip to Heavenly at Lake Tahoe. We stayed in the same place we did on our honeymoon. It was a wonderful trip. We seem to meet the greatest people when we are in Tahoe. We met the Fetters on our honeymoon & this year we met Corey & have stayed friends even though we all live very far apart.
We had a summer of skiing & wakeboarding until some problems with our boat had to be addressed. Our boat was in the shop from July 4th until it was too cold to use anymore. It is now in working order, but it will be a while before we can use it again.
Sloan is in 2nd grade this year & is still very smart. She want constant activity & constant challenges & can be quite distructive if she becomes bored & is left to her own devices. She's lost 8 teeth, weighed 49lbs at her last check up & is 46 inches tall. She's a bit smaller than her peers, but she makes up for it in spirit. She's made it to Red Belt in TaeKwon Do & we are very proud of her.
Evie is in Kindergarten this year & has loved being in school. You notice that Evie made it to the holidays without her 2 front teeth. She loves to sing the song too. Evie has lost 6 teeth, weighed 50lbs at her last check-up & is about 46 inches tall ~ making her about the same size as Sloan. Evie loves to sing & dance. We would love to have her in some classes, but time has not allowed it this year.
Will is quite the little man! He's a big boy & has had a very healthy year. Will stays at home with me still & is only in a drop-in mother's morning out program. In the next picture you can see that his hair is currently cut in a mohawk & it suits his personality very well. He's an "all-out" kid & doesn't hold anything back. It's great when he's feeling lovey, not so fun when he's mad though.
Nate celebrated his birthday this year with a trip to the emergency vet for one dog and a trip to the animal shelter for the other. Our "yellow lab" Sunny attacked our black lab Shadow & nearly killed her. Shadow has spent months recovering from her shattered leg, multiple infections & other wounds. When Nate took Sunny in to put her down the technician on staff suspected that she actually was a pit bull mixed with lab. Glad she didn't get after one of our kids.
At the end of the summer Nate found out that the company he was working for would be selling their radio stations in Jackson ~ to different radio groups who would not need any new managers. This company also did not offer to relocate us; so Nate was left searcing for a new job right before our children were supposed to go back to school. Nate did manage to find a good job, but it is in Texas. The housing market has been quite slow lately so I am anticipating being in this house until the summer (at least). It is very hard to live apart, but I know that we are thankful that Nate was able to find something appropriate with the economy slowing down so drastically.
I am still coaching swim team and have been able to keep up with my project in the Junior League. With Nate being gone so much all of this keeps me very busy. I am ready for my whole family to be settled in one place ~ wherever that may end up being.
